Lim, Goh and Dr Huang along with guests celebrating the Federation of Hokkien Associations for Sabah and Labuan 50th anniversary.
Kota Kinabalu: The Government is urged to view seriously the series of business boycotts currently brewing in the country that are meant to express solidarity with Palestinians over the military action by Israel in Gaza since October 2023.

The Federation of Hokkien Associations of Sabah and Labuan said it should intervene and take appropriate action for the sake of the economy.

Its President, Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan, said the situation is getting serious, causing many stores to temporarily close with employees losing their jobs and affecting their families’ livelihoods.

“The boycotts targeting fast food, beverage outlets, convenience stores, and some brands are deeply regrettable because they are putting local companies and employees at risk,” he said, at the 50th Jubilee Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Sabah and Labuan at Wisma Hakka.
