Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Datuk Chin Su Phin called for decisive actions to address incompetency within government structures in Sabah.
Chin’s concerns stem from perceived deliberate actions by certain government officers to undermine the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) administration, as highlighted in a recent statement.
He emphasised the need for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to take bold steps in removing incompetent officers who are acting contrary to the State Government’s aspirations.
He believes that such actions are essential to uphold the integrity of the Government and ensure that policies align with the interests of the people and the State.
Furthermore, Chin underscored the importance of public support for the Government’s efforts to address incompetency within government departments.
He expressed confidence that the removal of incompetent officers and the implementation of effective policies will garner widespread approval from the public, demonstrating a commitment to good governance and accountability.
In light of these developments, Chin stressed that the call to remove incompetent officers within the government structure reflects LDP’s commitment to promoting transparency, efficiency and integrity in Sabah’s administration.
LDP’s stance underscores its dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that government officials act in the best interests of the State and its people, he said.
On the State AG appointment issue, Chin called on the State Cabinet to support Hajiji’s decision in the upcoming Cabinet meeting.
The issue arose following a letter from the State Attorney-General’s Chambers dated June 8, 2022, appointing Tengku Datuk Fuad Ahmad to represent the State Government in a judicial review initiated by the Sabah Law Society (SLS) against the Federal Government.
Chin questioned whether the AG Chambers had obtained the Chief Minister’s consent before appointing Tengku Fuad, as the letter was issued over two years ago.
