Kota Kinabalu: United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) joined forces to organise programmes aimed at preparing the next generation of leaders to take the helm in Sabah.
The strategic measure was designed to cultivate and set in motion a series of leadership and team-building initiatives.
The programmes also aimed at preparing the next generation of leaders to take the helm in Sabah.
The collaborative effort between Usno and SAPP was formalised during a meeting at SAAP headquarters, here, last Thursday.
Usno President Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia led an 18-member delegation in discussions with SAPP leaders led by President Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee.
They discussed about crucial issues affecting Sabah, including territorial, energy and food security.
Pandikar emphasised the importance of establishing a platform where seasoned politicians could mentor and pass on their knowledge to emerging leaders.
This transfer of experience aims to equip the future leaders with the skills and insights necessary to navigate the challenges faced by previous generations of Sabah leaders.
SAPP Organising Secretary Stephan Gaimin proposed a team-building training camp to further enhance the leadership capabilities of young politicians.
Usno and SAPP agreed to take the lead in organising the camp.
Stephan highlighted the significance of such collaborative efforts among all GRS parties in fortifying the coalition and ensuring its readiness for the next state elections.
“The move is a collective endeavour between Usno and SAPP and underscores a commitment to nurturing a new breed of leaders in Sabah, bridging the gap between established politicians and aspiring individuals.
“By fostering a culture of mentorship and skills development, the GRS coalition sets a precedent for sustainable leadership growth and continuity in the region,” he said.
