Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan claims the recent centralised counter system on four tourist hotspot islands here where two companies were appointed to manage it smacks of “cronyism”.
Its Kota Kinabalu Secretary Loi Kok Liang said Sabah Parks failed to explain on what basis these companies were selected which basically do nothing but issue tickets but stand to earn a cool RM4.6 million yearly if at least one tourist opts to try any of the water sports.
He said the so-called system only involved an extra step of paying at the counter, without bringing any positive changes to existing services.
