Kota Kinabalu: Twenty single mothers from various districts in Sabah were assisted with baking utensils and ingredients during the handover ceremony held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
The event was initiated by Lion Clubs (6 & 7 Region) in collaboration with the Single Mothers Association (Pitsa) with the aim of supporting and uplifting women through baking skills.
Thereafter, the MOU signing ceremony was carried out between Lions Clubs and Pitsa led by its President Norhanida Annol.
According to Norhanida, out of the 2,500 identified single mothers, only 700 were registered.
“All of them are part of the B40 group, facing economic challenges that had impact their daily lives, particularly those with young children and school-aged children,” she said.
