Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) generated significant interest from the events, meetings and incentives community across the United Kingdom (UK) and Europe during its participation in The Meetings Show held at Excel London from June 19-20.
The interests shown underscored Sabah’s appeal as a preferred choice for international events.
The prestigious event served as an exceptional platform to promote Sabah as a premier Business Events (BE) destination and demonstrate SICC’s international venue capabilities.
The Meetings Show, recognised as the UK’s leading exhibition for the events, meetings and incentives community, provided SICC with the opportunity to engage with a diverse audience through pre-scheduled appointments and walk-in interactions at the expo area.
SICC had the opportunity to showcase its offerings alongside Sabah, in collaboration with the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and other industry players from Malaysia.
SICC also hosted lucky draws for visitors, featuring prizes sponsored by Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Shangri-la Tanjung Aru, the Conservation and Environmental Management of the Yayasan Sabah, Sabah Holidays and Sri Pelancongan Sabah. These activities further enhanced the visibility of Sabah’s cultural diversity, wildlife and luxurious accommodations.
SICC CEO Datuk Dr Rosmawati Lasuki expressed enthusiasm about the expo’s success, saying the expo was pivotal in positioning Sabah as a top-notch destination in the region, complementing its world-class convention facilities with the rich cultural and natural attractions that the State has to offer.
“We are grateful to MyCEB for this opportunity and look forward to participating in more expos to further promote Sabah as a leading Business Events destination and Malaysia in general,” added the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (Maceos) Sabah Chapter President.
