Kian Kok education exhibition sees 60 institutions taking part

Kota Kinabalu: State Assistant Finance Minister Tan Lee Fatt said education has an important role in preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour at the Education Exhibition organise by Kian Kok Middle School Board of Directors, Tan said the future of the country and societal development hinge on the widespread dissemination and quality improvement of education.

“Education is not merely about imparting knowledge.

“It’s about cultivating well-rounded talents, inspiring innovation and enhancing social responsibility and civic awareness. Our students are the future leaders who will shoulder the responsibility of building a better society,” he said.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
The exhibition, which drew participation from 60 colleges and universities, both domestic and international, aims to provide students from various secondary schools in Kota Kinabalu with comprehensive information about university admission requirements. 

The initiative is designed to empower students to confidently chart their future academic paths.

Tan praised the event’s global perspective, noting the active participation of foreign institutions based in Malaysia and the presence of renowned universities from China. 

“This significantly expands our students’ choices and opportunities on a global scale,” he said.

He also acknowledged the exhibition’s role as a platform for students and parents to explore the latest educational resources and opportunities, including scholarships, exchange programs, and career guidance services.

He emphasised its function as a bridge for educators and institutions to learn from each other and communicate effectively.

Expressing his gratitude to Kian Kok Middle School for hosting the event, Tan acknowledged their efforts in enhancing the nation’s education level. 

“I hope every student can find their direction and goals at this exhibition, and every parent can discover the best educational resources to pave a bright path for their children’s future. 

“Additionally, I encourage our educators to continue advancing, innovating, and injecting new vitality into our educational cause,” he said.
