Sabah gaining from China ties
Dr Huang said one notable development is the completion and operation of Kibing Group’s photovoltaic glass production base in Sabah. 
Kota Kinabalu: Fifty years of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia has fostered a positive environment for cooperation between China and Sabah, said Consul-General of China in Kota Kinabalu Dr Huang Shifang.

“The two sides have deepened our friendly relations, expanded mutually beneficial cooperation and enhanced people-to-people exchanges,” she said in her special address at the Malaysia-China Summit 2024 Networking Engagement Series – Sabah, here.

She said in 2023, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as well as other Cabinet Ministers visited China, which has significantly bolstered the exchanges and cooperation in various fields including investment, trade, and culture and so on. 

“China is Sabah’s largest trading partner. More and more Chinese enterprises have come to Sabah for investment or business, injecting more vitality into Sabah’s economy,” she said.
