Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad queried why locals sidelined in Kota Kinabalu International Airport toilet job

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanahairku (Sabah Star) is upset why companies from Malaya have been contracted to do works on five sets of passengers’ toilets in Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

Its Deputy President Datuk Kenny Chua questioned Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd (MAHB) for not giving the opportunity to a Sabah company to do the job.

“I believe many Sabah companies or contractors are capable of doing the job which only involves renovating and refurbishing passengers’ toilets in KKIA.

“Malaysia Airports needs to give an explanation. KKIA is in Sabah, so it only makes sense that a local Sabah contractor should have been given priority,” he said in a statement.

“This is just a toilet refurbishing project and Sabahans are denied. Are we so not qualified?” he asked, adding that many locals felt insulted when learning about the matter.
