SOOK: A basic Hydroponic Crops Course under the Nabawan Area Farmers Organization (PPK) Agricultural Apprentice Programme took place at Trusmadi Campsite Resort, Kampung Sinaron, recently.
The participants were exposed to the introduction of hydroponics and the management of hydroponic vegetables by hydroponic plant entrepreneur Amran Jining.
According to PPK Nabawan General Manager Jupri Haji Jubal, five of the course participants have received grants under the “Agreprentis Program” worth RM 20,000 each.
The course also involved potential participants under the Young Agropreneur Programme.
“For the five participants who have received grants, houses and hydroponic sets have been built,” he said.
The five would be guided by a mentor to ensure they will be successful.
He hoped that the participants would take advantage of the knowledge and experience gained, especially those who received the grants.
“Don’t waste the opportunity given by the government because it can improve the economy and your own income source,” he said.
He said that apart from Agreprentis, there are several other programs related to agriculture provided by the government for the youth.
Young people need the opportunities provided by the Government to secure their future,” he said.
