The Cabinet committee on national governance has also decided to form a task force under the EAIC to implement the recommendations of a separate panel that reviewed custodial deaths.
Kuala Lumpur: New legislation to govern federal statutory bodies and their subsidiaries is to be introduced, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said today.

The new law aims to strengthen the legal governance of these bodies, focusing on aspects such as loans, investments and the establishment of subsidiaries, it said in a statement.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
The PMO also said a Government Procurement Bill would be prepared, with a complaint mechanism established in accordance with international standards.

The Cabinet committee also decided to form a task force under the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) to implement the recommendations of a separate panel that reviewed custodial deaths.
