Sabah plans to increase the annual allocation for STEM
Mohd Arifin, who is also Sabah education exco, said the Government is committed to implementing all initiatives to achieve the 30 per cent target of students’ involvement in STEM. 
PAPAR: The Sabah Government plans to increase the annual allocation for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programme next year.

State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said the allocation given to each district information office (PPD) aimed to spur students’ interest in STEM.

“The annual allocation this year is RM20,000 for each PPD. Next year, we will try to increase it.

“Previously, the allocation was RM15,000. We will see how well all the PPDs are performing.

During the event, Mohd Arifin also presented certificates and prizes to the winners of the competition in conjunction with the State-level STEM and TVET Festival.
