Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC II need to bounce back quickly to avoid being labelled as the MFL’s “punch bag” following their 0-6 to Selangor PKNS FC at UiTM Stadium on Wednesday.

Newly appointed head coach Alto Linus who only had a few days to prepare the team for the Selangor game after replacing Johnny Dominicus last week said the whole team had to work extra hard to ensure they could get positive results in the coming matches.

“There is a lot of homework to be done to ensure that Sabah FC II can bounce back quickly following the losing streaks since the start of the season.

“We have also conceded a large number of goals and my main focus now is of course to identify and rectify the weaknesses in the team and at the same time I will try to make them more organised based on the tactics applied.

“Sabah FC II need to be positive. We have a lot of potential, but to get there, all the players need to work hard and understand what the team’s objectives are,” he said.

Sabah FC II are currently lying at the bottom in the league as the only team without any points after losing all their opening five matches.

They only managed to score four goals but had conceded 21, while the next worst team only let in nine goals.

The team under Johnny started the season with a 1-2 loss at home to Sri Pahang FC II followed by 1-7 away thrashing by PDRM FC, another 1-3 home loss to Perak FC II, 0-3 defeat by JDT FC II and the latest 0-6 hammering  by Selangor PKNS FC .
