PENAMPANG: Two foreign women have been detained to facilitate investigations over the recent viral video showing a fight at a shopping complex’ parking lot, here.
Penampang Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said they have opened investigations into the case.
The first arrest involved an 18-year-old identified as the suspect who is seen assaulting the victim in the two-minute 16-second video.
The second arrest involved a 25-year-old woman (the victim) for failing to produce valid identification documents.
Police are trying to locate a third suspect who is also seen attacking the victim in the video.

The motive is believed due to an alleged affair between the victim and the husband of the suspect still at large.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing hurt and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.
Additionally, investigations are ongoing under Section 6(1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for not possessing a valid pass or permit to stay in Malaysia.
