Warisan: Why the Federal Government silence on 40pc?
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (left) and solicitor for Warisan, Chin Tek Ming (right), have also expressed their disappointment over the federal government’s inaction.
Kota Kinabalu: The silence surrounding Sabah’s 2/5 (40pc) tax revenue entitlement deadline by the Madani Government is disappointing, says Warisan Pensiangan division chief Mudi Dubing.

He said many feel let down by the delay in addressing this crucial issue, especially as it has been almost a year since the July 18 deadline was first brought to public attention by Upko President Datuk Ewon Benedick.

He said the commitment made in the committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof to establish a timeline to address it should have been met by now.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and solicitor for Warisan, Chin Tek Ming, have also expressed their disappointment over the federal government’s inaction.

In response, Chin proposed a Parliamentary Special Select Committee (PSC) to monitor both the State and Federal Governments on matters relating to MA63 and the 2/5 entitlement issue.

He criticised lack of communication from Ewon regarding any extensions or delays.

Mudi said PKR Sabah seemed more interested in seats than advocating for Sabah’s rights and interests, despite including the MA63 affirmation in the party’s constitution.
