Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) President Datuk Jeffrey Kitingan drew attention to the inadequacy of terms like “Momogun” and “Kadazandusun” in fully representing the diverse indigenous communities of Sabah.
He said while these terms are widely recognised, they primarily describe specific indigenous groups and do not encompass the entire spectrum of Sabah’s indigenous population.
The Deputy Chief Minister (I) highlighted that relying solely on terms like “Momogun” and “Kadazandusun” excludes significant indigenous communities such as the Bajau, Bisaya, Kedayan, Irranun, and others.
“This exclusion risks alienating these groups and perpetuates a sense of marginalisation and oversight within Sabah’s indigenous population.
