Kota Kinabalu: The National Consumer Foundation seeks an explanation from Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam for the expensive parking fees in Penampang.

Its Sabah Chairman David Chan said there is a significant discrepancy in parking fees between Penampang and Kota Kinabalu noting that it is higher in Penampang.

“This raises a pressing question about the fairness and justification behind such a pricing structure.

“We believe that parking fees should be consistent and reasonable, reflecting the economic conditions and living standards of the area.

David urged the Ministry to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that parking charges are fair and equitable for all consumers across the region.
