Woo young, mosque panels told
Abdul Rahim said this to Daily Express after visiting and inspecting a proposed site to build parking spaces and an additional area to upgrade Surau Al-Jannah Kg Padang Pulasan.
PAPAR: The main committees of Masjid and Surau here have been urged to focus on creating activities that could attract young people to patronise both willingly.

Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Pantai Manis divisional head Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Ismail said this is imperative because about 60 per cent of the people in the district here are youths.

He said not many (Muslim) local youths are interested in going to the masjid and surau unless during Friday prayer, the special prayers of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri and Hari Raya Aidil Adha.

He said one way to catch the youths’ interest and attention is by organising not only religious activities but also non-religious activities like sports events, among others.
