Azlan is accused of assaulting Preslley Marcus, 34, with the weapon at 10pm on Nov 6, 2022 at the Kimpalan Aluminum and Gril workshop in Kg Lobou, Manggatal.
The offence under Section 326 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and liable to a fine or whipping, on conviction.
The court released Azlan on RM3,000 bail in two local sureties and fixed Sept 20 this year for pre-trial case management.
