Sabah TVET Council planned
Arifin said Sabah remains committed to achieving the 60:40 target for student participation in Stem courses, which is 60 per cent Science and 40 per cent Arts. 
SANDAKAN: The establishment of the Sabah Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council is being proposed, and if approved, it is expected to be launched early next year at the latest. 

State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif  said the working paper is being prepared and once completed, it will be submitted to the State Cabinet.

“Council members will include the Ministry, the State Education Department, local universities and experts in the field. 

“In addition, we continue to empower the fields of Science, Engineering and Mathematics (Stem) through various programmes across Sabah in collaboration with the State Education Department and District Education Offices involving teachers, students and Stem experts from local universities,” he said.
