Malaysian couple who travelled to Paris Olympics on motorcycle inspires

Kota Kinabalu: A Malaysian couple has captured the attention of netizens after successfully travelling from Malaysia to Paris on a motorcycle to catch the 2024 Olympics. 

The couple, Alfi and his wife Diana, have been documenting their travels on TikTok under the handle @kapcaipackers, where they have amassed 33,700 followers and up to 1.1 million likes.

“Flying to the Paris Olympics: [cross sign]. Riding to the Paris Olympics: [tick sign],” captioned their recent post, accompanied by the hashtags #traveltiktok, #kapcaipackers, #travel, and #fyp.

In the video, Alfi can be seen proudly posing in front of the Eiffel Tower with his motorcycle.

In an interview with World of Buzz, Alfi shared that the journey, which started on December 29 last year, culminated in their arrival in Paris on August 6.

“We were already on a ride to watch the AFC (football tournaments) in Qatar in January, we continued our journey to Paris for the 2024 Olympics,” he told the social news outlet.

He said from Qatar, they made pit stops in Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria and Germany, before reaching France.

The couple’s adventure has inspired many on social media.

“I wish to do the same!” commented one TikTok user Affrizal Mohamed, to which Alfi replied, hoping his dream would come true as well.

“How do you get to Paris by motorbike? Which bridge did you cross?” asked another netizen, John Samad.

The couple replied by commenting that they had to cross many bridges.

The couple’s journey proves that with determination and a bit of courage, even the wildest dreams can become reality.
