TAWAU: The police refuted claims about a viral video of the body of a boy found inside a dumpster in Kg Sri Menanti.

The police here have not received any reports or complaints related to the alleged case.

It’s Chief, ACP Jasmin Hussin, said they reviewed the 21-second video of people huddling around the dumpster and denied its authenticity.

On the other hand, he said, the footage was taken on Aug 9 at Jalan Mawar when there was a minor accident between a motorcyclist and pedestrian.

“Tawau MPV and the traffic police were on scene to ease the traffic situation at the time of the incident,” he said on Tuesday.
