Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) is advised to build more marine life replicas around the city.

Sabah Fisheries and Fishermen Development Corporation (Ko-Nelayan) Chairman Kong Soon Choi said the construction of marine life replicas are not limited to be carved-out replicas but also through mural paintings at suitable locations.

“Visitors from home and abroad are amazed by the wealth of marine resources in Sabah. They also come here to enjoy fresh seafood.

“Therefore, in order to attract more tourists, DBKK can think of suitable areas to build replicas such as fish, prawns, crabs or other marine resources that are unique to attract tourists,” he said.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
Kong said the proposed effort also provides income for those who are talented in altering replicas or murals to make the work successful.

At the same time, Kota Kinabalu will get coverage for free through social media players who help spread the word.

“Just look at what tourists and members of the public have recently been spreading about the uniqueness of a bank located in the city.

“It has become known to many people because it was widely shared on social media,” he said.
