Man gets 21 months’ jail over stolen property
For this offence, Fauzi was sentenced to six months’ jail to run concurrently with the other case involving stolen property, specifically a bracelet he took on Aug 7 from a house in Taman Beluran Jaya. 
SANDAKAN: A 41-year-old man was sentenced to 21 months’ jail by the Sessions Court on three counts of having stolen property.

Mohd Fauzi Simiun admitted before Judge Zaini Fishir @ Fisal to committing the offences here and in Beluran between July and early August of this year.

The court heard that the first offence took place on July 25 when Fauzi broke into a teacher’s house at SMK Agama Tun Juhar Sandakan and stole two laptops, laptop charger and a mouse, causing the victim losses of approximately RM4,000.

The victim subsequently lodged a police report and Fauzi was arrested on Aug 19, at 11.45am outside the Beluran District Police Headquarters (IPD).

Fauzi later informed the Sandakan IPD police that the stolen items were kept in a room at a house in Peringkat 1 Rancangan Sungai Manila.

For this offence, Fauzi was sentenced to six months’ jail to run concurrently with the other case involving stolen property, specifically a bracelet he took on Aug 7 from a house in Taman Beluran Jaya.

He later pawned it at a gold shop in Batu 8, Sandakan.

For this offence, he was sentenced to six months’ jail from Aug 8 when he was detained by the road side at Rancangan Sungai Manila, Batu 12, Sandakan.

In the third case, Fauzi was sentenced to nine months’ jail for having stolen additional items, including a drill set, plastic containers, and other goods from the same victim’s house in Taman Beluran Jaya the same day.

Each charge under Section 411 of the Penal Code provides for a maximum imprisonment of five years, a fine, or both, if found guilty.

Prosecuting Officer Nooraznie Bolalan prosecuted while Fauzi was not represented.
