PENAMPANG: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) held their first Joint Leadership Council (JLC) meeting Friday to strengthen their partnership in preparation for the coming State election.
The meeting, which followed the MoU signed by both parties in April, was co-chaired by PBS Acting President Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Star President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan at PBS Headquarters in Donggongon, here.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the scope of collaboration stipulated in the MoU and the way forward for PBS and Star in ensuring they won all the seats contested in the coming election.
Both leaders stressed the need to align their efforts to strengthen respective influence and GRS’s presence across Sabah, emphasising that unity within the coalition is essential for a strong performance in the state polls.
During the meeting, the JLC agreed on the setting up of a committee to formulate joint programmes to be carried out in the run-up to the State election.
The programmes devised by this committee would be tabled in the next JLC meeting for deliberation and approval.
To further foster closer ties, PBS and Star agreed to alternate hosting future JLC meetings at their respective headquarters.
This decision reflects both parties’ commitment to maintaining transparency and equal partnership.
