Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Kota Kinabalu Secretary Loi Kok Liang called on the State Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment (Kepkas) to reconsider the current direct flight routes from China to Tawau.
He said there had been numerous complaints and appeals from Kota Kinabalu tourism operators lamenting significant losses in business opportunities.
“Additionally, the overcrowding at Tawau Airport has exacerbated capacity issues and led to embarrassing situations.
“This policy has not only failed to bring long-term economic benefits to Tawau, but has also overloaded Tawau Airport.
