‘Explain to peninsula folks’ call: Why Sabah and Sarawak are different
“It should not just be left to SLS lawyers to highlight this matter, but public movement should carry the momentum forward to support Sabah’s claim as well,” Chin asserted. - FMT pic
Any claim for MA63 rights that are enshrined in the Malaysian Constitution like the two-fifth revenue (40 per cent) sharing claim due to Sabah, should not only be pursued legally by NGOs but also be supported by the public.

The special grants under Article 112C and 112D under the Federal Constitution are so special because these grants basically justified Sabah is a partner to the formation of Malaysia with the recognition of Sabah’s conditions for being part of Malaysia.

Former SLS President Datuk Roger Chin said this in one of his weekend briefing sessions in Likas with members of the public recently. He was concerned that many Sabahans could not explained Sabah’s stance and claim.

“If your friends from West Malaysia were to ask you on why Sabah is considered an equal partner to the formation of Malaysia with Sarawak, and not as just one of the other states (in the Federation of Malaya), tell them that this is evident by our MA63 rights.
