TAWAU: The absence of classic egg supplies at business premises, including certain supermarkets in the district, occurred due to the lack of deliveries by eggs suppliers as the premises were still on holiday.

Chief Enforcement Officer of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Tawau Branch, Sam Aminuddin said they were informed that no deliveries were made to retail outlets because the premises were still on holiday (Malaysia Day).

However, he said his department had instructed eggs suppliers to deliver stocks to all these premises by Wednesday, so that the protein source reaches consumers.

According to him, inspections at the four main eggs suppliers in here revealed that 453,000 classic eggs (15,100 trays) from two suppliers had been distributed to business premises.
