Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has given his assurance to ensure that part of the land within the Sabah Forest Industry (SFI) area in this district will be set aside and gazetted as village land.
He stated that several thousand hectares of land within the company's forest concession area have already been identified for release so that residents can continue to occupy it legally.
At the same time, he will also instruct the Land and Survey Department (JTU) to implement the Sabah Native Land Services (Pantas) programme in this district.
He said this while officiating the annual meeting of Kemabong Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) here on Saturday.
