Immigration offences: Seven jailed
The court ordered the duo to serve the jail sentence concurrently from the date of their arrest.
Kota Kinabalu: Seven people were jailed for committing immigration offences, respectively.

Mikail, 26, Tarul, 30, Alfian, 27, Wafa, 26, Amil, 42, Nana, 50, and Insinius, 53, pleaded guilty separately before Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain, to the charge against them on Monday.

Mikail, Tarul, Alfian and Wafa were jailed four months each for entering the State without any document.

Meanwhile, Amil and Nana were jailed a total of 10 months each for entering the State illegally and entering the State again after they have been deported to their country.

On the first count for illegal entry, Amil and Nana were sent to prison for four months each.

Amil was also ordered to get a stroke of the cane.

On the second count, they were each jailed six months for re-entering the State after deportation.

The court ordered the duo to serve the jail sentence concurrently from the date of their arrest.

Meanwhile, Insinius was jailed a year for staying in the State after his work visit pass had expired. His pass expired on Aug 14, 2020.

The court ordered the illegal immigrants to serve their jail sentence from the date of their arrests.

After serving their sentence, they are ordered to be referred to the Immigration Department for deportation.
