KENINGAU: A 30-year-old man was jailed 30 years for causing the death of a person who was under the supervision of the Parole Office and Community Service of the Interior District.
Sessions Court Judge Ahmad Fairuz Mohamad Puzi meted out the sentence to Jamrin Jamli Mad Salleh, after ruling that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt against Jamrin.
Jamrin was found guilty of committing culpable homicide not amounting to murder of one Jasmin Sumain, 52, at the AB Car Wash in Apin-Apin, here, on Dec 24, 2023, at 8am.
He was convicted under Section 304(a) of the Penal Code.
The court heard that the accused had fought with the victim and, in a fit of anger, took a soil shovel next to the water tank and hit the victim on the head, causing him to collapse.
It was revealed that the motive for the incident was the accused’s dissatisfaction with the victim, who was lazy and frequently engaged in verbal arguments.
