Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Ltd (SSPC) marked a significant milestone by renewing its lease for office space at Plaza Shell, Kota Kinabalu, in a ceremony witnessed by the esteemed Guest of Honour, Datuk Seri Panglima Hj Masidi Manjun, Sabah Minister of Finance and Chairman of Sabah Maju Jaya Energy Sdn Bhd (SMJE).
This renewal demonstrates Shell’s continued commitment towards driving Sabah’s socio-economic growth through its diverse operations in the Upstream, Deepwater, and Downstream sectors, as well as its ongoing efforts in capacity building, community and talent development.
During the ceremony, a document exchange took place between Wong Kim Mun, SSPC’s General Manager, and Manfred Weber, Director of Property Management, Hap Seng Land.
Alongside the Guest of Honour, the exchange of document was also witnessed by Siti Sulaiman, Country Chair of Shell Malaysia and Senior Vice President of Integrated Gas & Upstream Malaysia.
“We are happy to continue partnering with Shell towards Sabah’s growth and development through their investments in competitive and resilient initiatives.
As I told Siti, “may your choices reflect your hope, not fears”,” shared Datuk Seri Panglima Hj Masidi Manjun, Sabah Minister of Finance and Chairman of Sabah Maju Jaya Energy Sdn Bhd (SMJE).
“Today’s event further reinforces our commitment to Sabah, where we have been proudly operating for over 40 years.
Additionally, we remain dedicated to supporting local Sabahan contractors through collaborative, long-term initiatives that drive capability development within the local energy sector,” said Siti Sulaiman, Country Chair of Shell Malaysia and Senior Vice President of Integrated Gas & Upstream Malaysia.
Also in attendance at the ceremony was Jonathan Jolly, General Manager for Corporate Relations – East Malaysia, Shell Malaysia.
Plaza Shell in Kota Kinabalu is the hub for SSPC and Shell Timur Sdn. Bhd (STSB) since the building’s inauguration in 2015.
