Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam called on all staff of the Sabah Native Affairs Department (JHEANS) to continue providing services with professionalism, compassion and most importantly, to always maintain integrity and honesty in carrying out their respective responsibilities.
Dr Joachim, who is also the Minister of Local Government and Housing, made this call at the JHEANS Excellence Service Award (APC) and Appreciation Ceremony held at Pacific Sutera Harbour, here, recently.
The ceremony honoured department staff who have made contributions and shown excellent performance throughout 2023.
Dr Joachim also congratulated the JHEANS workforce on the launch of the department’s website.
“This website will facilitate access to important information. Moreover, it also reflects our commitment to using technology to serve better, in line with the Sabah Government’s innovation to implement digital government transformation in efficient and excellent service delivery,” he said.
Congratulating all award recipients, he hoped these efforts would continue and serve as a motivation to continue providing excellent service in the future.
He said the APC is the Government’s appreciation to civil service members who have provided excellent service, taking into account the quality or output that exceeds the normal responsibilities of their position.
Every individual who works hard, struggles, and sacrifices to achieve common goals deserves proper appreciation, he added.
He also wants aspects of integrity and anti-corruption strengthening to always be the main agenda of an organization or individual to remain strong and transparent because “Corruption destroys trust, and trust is the foundation of progress.”
He also prayed for good health and success for all retirees and those transferring in 2023 and 2024.
