LABUAN: The Chinese Chamber of Commerce lamented that plans to build a modern integrated port has been shelved again.
Chamber Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii said the project was proposed under the 10th MP (Malaysian Plan) and should have been long completed and in use by now but won’t see daylight even under the present 12th MP which will end next year.
Wong was referring to “No decision yet on Labuan port” report which quoted Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah as saying that project could only begin after a feasibility study had been conducted.
He also mentioned that the MOT was factoring in the Labuan Development Print 2030 which allocates 200 acres for the port.
