Kota Kinabalu: A 60-year-old woman was fined a total of RM12,000 for two allowing illegal immigrants to be in the premises under her control.
Nuholing Tinnu pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain to the charge against her.
She was fined RM6,000 in default six months’ jail for each illegal immigrants involved.
Nuholing had permitted the two Pakistanis, who did not have any valid document at 11pm on April 22 this year at Imad & Father in Jalan Tuaran By-pass, here.
The charge stated that Nuholing was the person who controlled the premises.
The offence under Section 55E(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 which carries a jail term of up to a year, or a fine of between RM5,000 and RM30,000, or both, for each illegal immigrant involved.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old man was fined RM5,000 for permitting a Filipina in a restaurant under his control.
Abd Rahman Palasin admitted to allowing the 27-year-old Filipina who did not have any identity document at 11.30am on July 23 this year at the Sri Rasa Bandung Restaurant in Inanam Business Centre, Jalan Tuaran By-pass.
Prosecuting Officer Sopian Karate from the Immigration Department appeared for the prosecution.
