Kota Kinabalu: A 29-year-old Indonesian was fined RM13,000 for continuing to stay in the State after her pass expired and having fake document.
Sessions Court Judge Hurman Hussain meted out the sentence to Gusni who admitted to the charges.
On the first count, Gusni was fined RM10,000 or spend six months in prison for overstaying in the State after her social visit pass had expired on Jan 2 this year.
On the second count, she was fined another RM3,000 in default six months’ jail for having a fake special pass dated Aug 22 this year.
She was arrested on Sept 18 this year at 4.50pm at the domestic arrival hall of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
In another case, a Filipino was jailed 10 months for illegal entry and re-entering the State after being deported.
On the first count, Jon Sampe, 38, was sent prison for four months for entering the State without any document.
On the second count, he was jailed six months plus a stroke of the cane for entering the State again after being sent back to his hometown.
Jone was arrested at 9am on Sept 30 this year in Keningau.
The court ordered Jone to serve the jail sentence concurrently from the date of his arrest.
After serving the jail sentence, Jone was ordered referred to the Immigration Department for deportation.
Prosecuting Officers Chin Tze Mee and Aizah Minin from the Immigration Department appeared for the prosecution.
