Kota Kinabalu: Two men cheated death by jumping off the back of a five-tonne truck before it crashed downhill at Kampung Kopungit, here, Friday.
The 37-year-old driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the 1.45pm incident.
All individuals, including a male passenger, in the front cabin escaped with minor injuries.
The lorry ended up flipped on a guardrail and damaged a house roof in the process. No one was at home at that time.
In another accident, three four-wheel-drive vehicles were damaged at the U-turn near SMK Bahang, in Penampang, on Thursday night.
A Mitsubishi Triton was initially rear-sided by a Ford Ranger as it was making a U-turn towards Kota Kinabalu in the 9.30pm incident.
The Ranger scraped against the Triton’s left side, causing it to crash on the road divider.
In an earlier attempt to avoid the Triton, the Ranger swerved into the left lane but hit a parked Toyota Hilux at the SMK Bahang bus stop instead.
Sgt Laimin from the Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters and Sgt Azmi from Penampang’s were investigating at the scenes.
