Kota Kinabalu: The federal government has allocated RM21.5 million this year to upgrade health clinics across Sabah, said the Deputy Health Minister, Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
The allocation covers the demolition and reconstruction of 21 clinics, alongside repairs for 56 ageing facilities.
Lukanisman said he visited several rural clinics, including in Kampung Sayap in Kota Belud, and inspected others still under construction and said it is important for these upgrades to improve healthcare access for rural communities.
"Some rural clinics now feature integrated staff quarters, designed specifically for single workers, with accommodations located within clinic grounds to support healthcare personnel," he said.
