TAWAU: Over 1,200 trees and flowers were planted at Tawau Hills Park as part of a major reforestation initiative, a collaborative effort between local conservation group 1StopBorneo Wildlife and The Sabah Parks.
The project aims to transform degraded land into a thriving habitat for wildlife.
Deputy Director of The Sabah Parks, Rimi Repin launched the initiative in a special ceremony attended by over 50 representatives from schools, plantations, government agencies and NGOs.
The Lions Clubs of Tawau also played a significant role in supporting the project, sponsoring some of the trees, transport services, and boards for the initiative.
