KENINGAU: A man suffered burns on his hand when a fire broke out and destroyed three non-permanent rental houses in Kampung Patikang Ulu here on  Sunday morning.

The victim was sent to Keningau Hospital by members of the public before the firefighters arrived at the location.

District Fire and Rescue Station chief Sharudy Delamin said they received an emergency call at 6.50am, and a team of ten firefighters rushed to the location with machinery.

The operation ended at 9.47am.
