Crocodile attack kills boy in Lahad Datu
The victim was found about 600 metres from the scene.
LAHAD DATU: A ten-year-old boy is believed to have been killed by a crocodile while bathing in Pantai Sinakut, Felda Sahabat 16, here, on Sunday.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the investigation found that the incident occurred when the victim, Denis Rodi, went bathing at the beach with his five friends.

Dzulbaharin said while bathing, the victim was snatched and dragged by a crocodile into the middle of the sea.

He said the villagers launched a search and rescue effort but failed to discover the victim. A police report was later lodged.

"A team of police from Desa Kencana station went to the scene and carried out Search and Rescue with the villagers.

"The victim was later found about 600 metres from the scene. The victim was found lifeless with his right hand torn off and his head severed from his body,” he said.

According to Dzulbaharin, the victim was taken to the hospital for further action.
