KUALA PENYU: All 16 passengers and the driver of a travel bus escaped unhurt when the vehicle caught fire at Kampung Melikai, Jalan Menumbok, Thursday.
Fire and Rescue Chief, Nelson Ponji said they received a distress call at 9.30am through MERS999 eight firemen rushed to the scene with a FRT and water tanker machinery.

He said firemen were able to bring the flames under control by 10.30am and the fire had already caused up to 20 per cent damage to the bus.
Nelson said the bus was initially on its way from Kota Kinabalu to Menumbok.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
