Kota Kinabalu: A father sadly received his daughter's posthumous Doctor of Public Health degree at a recent Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) convocation.

"Thank you to UMS for guiding my daughter even though she didn't make it to the end," said Ahmad Kamarudin Ibrahim, 65, in a sad state after representing his late daughter to receive the scroll, according to a UMS statement.

Ahmad received the scroll from Sabah Governor-cum-UMS Chancellor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at the 26th UMS convocation ceremony.

Nornazirah died at the age of 36 from ovarian cancer on April 18 after completing her thesis research which she had been pursuing for the past few years.
