THE relevant government department should enforce laws made under the Animal Welfare Enactment 2015.

Once the people know that the government is serious about enforcement only then will pet owners heed the laws.

As it is now, dogs are let out of their pet owners’ compounds to roam freely.

And upon receiving complaints from the public, Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) then sets out to capture these poor innocent dogs and literally dumps them at the landfill along Jalan Tuaran.
