KUNAK: A local entrepreneur here has come forward to provide assistance for the repair work of the bus stop facility at SK Mostyn which needs urgent repairs due to its dilapidated condition.
Dato’ Seri Anil Sandhu who is also the Barisan Nasional (BN) Central Youth Exco said he is open to helping any party that needs assistance regardless of background or political affiliation.
“After seeing the condition of the bus shelter before, I tried to help the school Parent Teacher Association (PTA) through my personal contribution.
“Hopefully, with the help and completion of the repair of the bus shelter facilities at this school, the students or anyone who uses it, can feel comfortable including the parents who send their children to school.
“The current unpredictable weather requires the bus shelter facilities to be repaired from their previous deteriorated condition,” he told the Daily Express.
Anil has provided assistance in the form of zinc spandex, building materials including wood, boards, nails and paint for the repair work of the shelter which was carried out by the school PTA members and volunteers who were present.
Recently, the Chairman of Kunak Journalists Club (KJC) who is also an alumni of SK Mostyn, Ibrahim Tabir, came forward to welcome the involvement of any party whether non-governmental organisations (NGOs), organisations or individuals in helping to repair the bus shelter facilities at SK Mostyn.
The bus stop was built by the school PTA in 1998 but are in dilapidation with a leaking zinc roof.
“As a school alumni, I was called upon to find an alternative way to help the PTA repair the bus stop. Thank God, there were individuals who were willing to help.
“Apart from the school PTA members, several volunteers also came to help complete repairs on the premises,” he said.
Last Monday (Dec 2), Anil who is also Lahad Datu Division Umno Youth Chief, also visited the school after being contacted by the PTA members, promising to provide assistance by sending building materials.
