Man who forcibly dragged cat slapped with RM10,000 fine
A viral video on social media showed the man dragging the cat on a leash at a condominium building in Kuala Lumpur.
PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur sessions court has imposed a RM10,000 fine on a man who was seen forcibly dragging a cat by its neck with a leash at a condominium building in Kuala Lumpur.

Judge Norina Zainol Abidin meted out the sentence on Goh Kuan Pan, 43, after he pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary pain or suffering to the animal at the corridor of the condominium on Old Klang Road on Nov 21.

The charge was framed under Section 44(1)(d) of the Animals Act 1953, punishable by a maximum RM50,000 fine, up to a year in jail, or both upon conviction, Berita Harian reported.

Lawyer Gabriel Susayan pleaded for a lighter sentence as his client had a family to look after. Goh paid the fine.
