Drugs: Woman among four held in Tawau
The four suspects detained.
TAWAU: Police arrested four suspects, including a woman, suspected of drug trafficking, and seized 503.70gm of methamphetamine worth approximately RM17,000 in separate operations on Monday and Tuesday.

Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the first two suspects were apprehended in the town area around 10.15pm on Monday, while the other two were tracked down along Jalan Kalabakan at 3am on Tuesday.

He said a Perodua Bezza vehicle, used by the suspects aged between 29 and 35, was also confiscated.

“The arrests were made by a team of officers and personnel from the Sabah Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), in collaboration with the Tawau District Police Narcotics Investigation Division (BSJN).

“The suspects, along with the seized items, were taken to the Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action. The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

Jasmin said further investigation revealed that two foreign male suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, while the other two local suspects tested negative.

He said police were conducting investigations to dismantle the drug distribution network.

“This ongoing action is part of the police’s efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the State, particularly in Tawau,” he said.

He urged the public to continue cooperating with the police by providing information to combat crimes, including drug-related offences, to ensure the safety and well-being of the community in the district.
