KOTA KINABALU: A road accident occurred early this morning near the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) base in Sepanggar Bay, involving a Proton Saga and a 10-tonne lorry parked by the roadside.

The Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station received the emergency call at 6.36am and dispatched a team of firefighters, arriving at the scene at 6.53am, approximately 21 kilometres away.

The accident left one male driver of the Proton Saga injured, and he was sent to the RMN Hospital for treatment before the arrival of fire personnel.

Firefighters conducted inspections to ensure no further hazards at the site, concluding the operation at 7.10am.
