KOTA KINABALU: The Irrigation and Drainage Department has issued a flood warning for several areas in Sabah from Dec 20-Dec 22.

This follows a Continuous Rainfall Alert by the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) earlier today.

Flooding is expected in Sipitang, Beaufort, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Keningau, Tambunan, Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu, Papar, Penampang, Putatan, Tuaran, Beluran, Telupid, Kinabatangan, Sandakan, Kota Marudu, Kudat, and Pitas.

Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to stay alert and follow instructions from local authorities.

Flooding may happen earlier or later than expected, depending on the rainfall.
