Early morning accident in Sandakan leaves man injured

SANDAKAN: A 52-year-old man sustained injuries following a self-accident involving a Proton Waja that veered off the road along Kampung Jawa Road, Mile 12, early this morning.

District Fire and Rescue Station chief Severinus Sainkui said the station received a distress call regarding the incident at approximately 4.37am.

A team of six firefighters was dispatched to the scene, located 18 kilometres from the station, and arrived at 5.04am.

“The firefighters extricated the victim and handed him over to the Health Ministry personnel for further action,” he said.
